Dunedin Florida Commitment to Small Town Living

by Deborah Ward and Assoc on September 30, 2009

Dunedin Fl simply defines small town. To me, the classic small town is one that is full of home styles as individual as its residents and comprised of shop owners who take tremendous pride in their products and services and economic contribution to the community.

Dunedin isn’t full of cookie-cutter style homes in endless rows surrounded by chain stores. Dunedin actually feels like a village. Visitors and residents are always out and about strolling the winding streets of the picturesque Main Street area with its beautiful parks, Dunedin Marina, and all manner of pubs, ice cream parlors, and array of restaurants and shops owned by merchants of distinction.

Dunedin doesn’t rely on fast food franchises; it relies on the individuality of the people that live there and the restaurants that serve up savory fare.  Besides special dishes, all kinds of special events pepper the calendar: multiple fine art and antique shows and parades.  To name just a few of the annual festivities: Art Harvest,  full scale parades during Mardi Gras, the famous Dunedin Wines the Blues, The Celtic Festival, the Annual 9-day Highland Games, and The Honeymoon Island Seafood Fest & Boat Show.

These events tie this unique hamlet together and make for one of the most exceptional places to live in Pinellas County, Fl.
