Suffice to say, Dunedin homes for sale are selling. In many areas of the country the unemployment rate is still in double-digits and the foreclosure statistics remain at frightening levels. But for the first time in five years, existing-home sales increased for the fourth month in a row. Considering that the housing market was at the epicenter of our economic crisis, such positive numbers should be shouted from the rooftops of homes with “Sold!” signs on the lawns.
As a Dunedin, Fl Realtor, I’ve actually been a party to a few bidding wars in the past few months. Not a phrase we’ve used in a while, but Dunedin real estate that is priced right and in excellent condition is going to command this kind of attention.
The Chief Economist for the National Association of Realtors recently noted, “The housing market has decisively turned for the better; a combination of first-time buyers taking advantage of the housing stimulus tax credit and greatly improved affordability conditions are contributing to higher sales.”
As Realtors, we need to continue to do our jobs and provide genuine information to our listing clients so their homes have every opportunity to sell. Telling a seller what they want to hear is not going to bode well for these numbers in the coming year. Homes for sale in Dunedin need to be priced right or not be on the market at all.
